Maple Taxes

Effective Date: November 10, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Maple Taxes ("Maple Taxes", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. About Maple Taxes

Maple Taxes provides tax preparation and related administrative services to individuals and families in Canada, including preparation and electronic filing of income tax returns and benefit applications.

We are not the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Revenu Qu\u00e9bec, or any government authority.

2. Scope of Services

Our services may include:

  • Preparation of Canadian federal (T1) tax returns
  • Preparation of Qu\u00e9bec (TP-1) tax returns (when applicable)
  • Assistance with credits and benefits (e.g., CCB, Allocation familiale)
  • Electronic filing where eligible
  • Secure document collection and upload

Services are based solely on the information and documents you provide.

3. Client Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • All information you provide is accurate, complete, and truthful
  • You will provide all required documents (e.g., T4, RL-1, T2202, T4A, T5, T3, receipts, and other relevant slips)
  • You will review your return(s) before submission and confirm your approval
  • You authorize Maple Taxes to submit your return electronically on your behalf when applicable

We are not responsible for errors, penalties, interest, or delays arising from missing, incomplete, late, or incorrect information provided by you.

4. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Maple Taxes does not guarantee any specific tax result, including refund amounts, balances owing, eligibility for any credit or benefit, or acceptance of a return by CRA or Revenu Qu\u00e9bec. Outcomes are determined by the relevant tax authorities.

5. Fees and Payments

  • Fees are disclosed based on the service selected and may vary depending on complexity
  • Additional slips, schedules, amendments, or prior-year filings may require additional fees
  • Payments are generally non-refundable once work has begun or a return has been filed

6. Processing Times

While we aim to provide timely service, processing times depend on client responsiveness, document completeness, and CRA / Revenu Qu\u00e9bec processing timelines. We are not responsible for delays caused by government agencies or third-party service providers.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maple Taxes will not be liable for penalties, interest, losses, or damages arising from inaccurate or incomplete client information, or from delays or technical issues outside our control.

If liability is established, our total liability will be limited to the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

8. Suspension or Termination

We may refuse, suspend, or discontinue services if we believe (acting reasonably) that false or misleading information has been provided, fraud or illegal activity is suspected, or the client fails to cooperate or communicate in a reasonable manner.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and, where applicable, the laws of the Province of Qu\u00e9bec.
